Susan Yetter, PhD, APRN, PMH-NP

Susan Yetter is a distinguished Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner holding a doctorate, renowned for her specialized skill in managing mental health conditions in the elderly, specifically targeting anxiety and mood disorders. Her expertise extends to educational roles, where she has  contributed to the training and support of staff in memory care facilities, focusing on creating an optimal environment and managing patient behaviors effectively.

 

For fun, Susan enjoys working outside in her garden, biking, and reading historical mysteries.

Experience & Education

With an impressive career spanning 35 years in psychiatric nursing, including over two decades as a Nurse Practitioner, Susan's foundation in this field is robust. She received her PhD from Duquesne University, where her research focused on the mental health of older men who live alone. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she received her BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania. Susan currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Southern Maine and sees patients on a part-time basis.
